Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30-35 minutes
Servings: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

• 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 1 green bell pepper, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
• 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
• 1 tsp Italian seasoning
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 3 cups cooked pasta (any type, like elbow or rotini)
• 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Ground Beef

1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
2. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.

Step 2: Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

1. Add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine, and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Step 3: Assemble the Casserole

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce.
3. Pour half of the pasta mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
4. Add the remaining pasta mixture, then top with the rest of the cheddar and mozzarella.

Step 4: Bake

1. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 5: Serve

1. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy this simple, hearty meal!

Tips

• Make it veggie-friendly: Substitute the meat with more veggies like mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach.
• Add a little kick: Sprinkle some red pepper flakes for a spicier flavor.
• Storage: Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
