Ingredients
For the Bread:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk (or buttermilk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Step 1: Prep & Preheat
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until combined.
Step 3: Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Step 4: Combine
Gradually add wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined — batter will be thick and slightly lumpy. Avoid overmixing.
Step 5: Bake
Pour batter into loaf pan, smooth the top, and bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If browning too quickly, cover loosely with foil for the last 10 minutes.
Step 6: Add Topping
While bread is still warm, brush top with melted butter. Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle generously over loaf.
Step 7: Cool & Serve
Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
