Ingredients:

For the Lasagna Layers:

  • 9 lasagna noodles (regular or no-boil)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2: Cook the Meat Sauce

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, crumbled bacon, diced onion, and minced garlic over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the beef is browned and the onions are soft. Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer on low for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to combine and the sauce to thicken slightly.

Step 3: Prepare the Noodles

  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. If using no-boil noodles, skip this step.

Step 4: Layer the Lasagna

  • In a 9×13-inch baking dish, start by layering 3 lasagna noodles. Top with a third of the meat mixture and then a third of each cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan). Repeat this process two more times, ending with a layer of cheese on top.

Step 5: Bake the Lasagna

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Step 6: Let it Set

  • Let the lasagna cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
