Ingredients

For The Berries:

½ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
6 cups fresh blackberries
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

For The Batter:

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine the white sugar and cornstarch. Toss the blackberries with the melted butter and the sugar-cornstarch mixture until well coated. Spread the berry mixture evenly in the prepared dish.

To make the batter, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until just combined; the batter will be lumpy. Pour the batter over the prepared berries, spreading it out evenly.

Bake the cobbler for 55-60 minutes, or until the berries are tender and the crust has turned golden brown.

Enjoy your delicious Blackberry Cobbler warm from the oven!

Tips

For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the berries before baking. If you prefer a sweeter cobbler, increase the sugar slightly in both the berries and the batter. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
