Easy side dishes are my favorite — the simpler, the better! They bring a meal together without demanding much time or attention. This Easy Cranberry Apple Salad is one of the quickest recipes I’ve ever had the pleasure of making. The name really says it all: it’s a delicious salad that takes only minutes to prepare.

The key to making this salad so effortless is using vanilla yogurt. For this recipe, I opted for French-style yogurt, which is a bit thinner and helps coat each piece of fruit nicely.

This salad has elements reminiscent of both a Waldorf and an ambrosia salad, but here the yogurt replaces the traditional mayo or Cool Whip. It’s not only incredibly tasty but also a healthier twist on this type of dish. The savory notes from the celery and nuts combined with the sweet fruit and yogurt make this salad easy to enjoy.

To keep the apples from browning, mix them with yogurt and a bit of lemon juice. You can use any type of apple you’d eat raw for this recipe. I particularly love Honeycrisp and Cosmic apples, but Granny Smith adds a nice tartness if you prefer.

All that’s left is to mix the apples with the rest of the ingredients. Feel free to add different dried fruits or nuts to suit your taste.

With just 7 ingredients, you’re all set to dig in. It’s truly one of the simplest salads you can make!

This lightly sweet salad is packed with fresh fruits and veggies and has a delightful, crisp texture, making it a fun side dish, breakfast, or even a light dessert.
