Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- Oil (for frying)
- 2 cups chopped onions
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. cornmeal
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions:
- Place the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, milk, chopped onions, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir until the batter is well combined.
- Heat 1/2 to 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Drop the batter into the hot oil by tablespoonfuls, gently flattening each portion to form fritters.
- Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
