- 1 (5–7 pound) prime rib roast
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Pat the prime rib roast dry with paper towels and place it in a roasting pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, olive oil, rosemary, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the mixture evenly over the entire roast.
- Place the roast in the oven and roast for 15 minutes.
- Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (165°C) and continue roasting for about 2–3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your preferred doneness.
