A kid-friendly (and adult-approved) twist that combines two of the best comfort foods—cheesy mac and crispy pizza!

Ingredients:

For the Pizza Base:

  • 2 cups macaroni and cheese (homemade or from a box, cooled slightly)
  • 3 slices American cheese, torn into pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Topping:

  • 1/2 cup additional shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: cooked bacon bits, chopped parsley, hot sauce drizzle

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Make the crust: In a large bowl, combine the cooled macaroni and cheese, torn American cheese, egg, mozzarella, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until the mixture holds together.
  3. Shape the base: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet. Use a spatula or your hands to press it into a 9–10 inch round “crust” about 1/2 inch thick.
  4. Bake the crust: Bake for 15–18 minutes or until the edges are golden and the crust is set and firm.
  5. Add toppings: Sprinkle extra cheese (and any toppings, like bacon or parsley) over the crust. Return to the oven for another 5–7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Slice & serve: Let cool slightly, then cut into wedges like pizza. Serve warm and dig in!
